GWMC receives smart city funds without diversion
BJP state president Bandi Kumar Sanjay accused the state government of diversion of 196.4 crores and that it didn't release the entire funds that were given by the union government for developmental works in Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC). To this principal Secretary for Municipal Administration and Urban Development Arvind Kumar answered that all the funds were released to GWMC. Also, the works requiring a total of Rs. 46.67 crores have also been completed for just Rs. 40.67 crores.
Other than this the state government has also released 186.16 crores for the GWMC project. He adds that there are enough funds to meet the expenditure of the project. Despite the initial delays because of issues like land acquisition, the project work has finally taken off.
